In this study, a fast T 1 mapping method was proposed for quantification of both the arterial input function and the kinetics of Mn 2+ uptake in mouse myocardium in manganese-enhanced MRI (MEMRI) studies. A compartment model was developed for in vivo estimation of Mn 2+ uptake and efflux rates by fitting the model to MEMRI data.
