In this work, a new approach based on a fractional
diffusion model is developed to allow for in-vivo
estimation of the distributions of the microscopic
length scales of acinar airways from
3
He
diffusion MRI data. This new technique is used to assess
the acinar microstructure in asthma patients and the
results are compared with CT densitometry and
macroscopic
3
He
ventilation distributions.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
