We present initial results of a multi-center trial aimed
at assessing the diagnostic accuracy of 3T
multi-parametric MR imaging and spectroscopy in
distinguishing clinically significant prostate cancer
(PCa) from other prostatic tissue, with whole-mount
section histopathology as the gold standard. Good
separation between PCa and benign tissues was found for
multi-center ADC data; DCE and MRSI need further
analysis before solid conclusions about these methods
performance can be drawn. The validation part of this
prospective trial will be used to determine the
parameters contributing most to the detection and
localization of clinically significant PCa as well as
their optimal thresholds.
