The contrast in CEST experiments depends on f
B
,
the concentration of exchanging protons, and on their
exchange rate k
BA
. The Ω-plot method is able
to quantify both simultaneously in the case of cw
saturation. We show that AREX, generating the CEST
contrast in a cw experiment, can be extended to the case
of pulsed CEST. This extension allows to define an
Ωplot method yielding improved estimation of f
B
and
k
BA
also
in the case of saturation by a train of Gaussianshaped
rf pulses. This approach could be the next step towards
quantitative CEST studies
in
vivo
.
