Synopsis

Keywords: Atherosclerosis, Cardiovascular, Cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking;Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction;Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events score

Motivation: Acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI) is increasingly emerging as the leading form of acute coronary syndrome. Additionally, the likelihood of significant cardiovascular adverse events(MACE) occurring outside of a hospital setting is also escalating

Goal(s): Our goal was to assess the prognostic significance of myocardial strain when combined with the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) score in predicting the incidence of MACE

Approach: Our methodology incorporated the use of cardiac magnetic resonance feature tracking(CMR-FT) technology to assess myocardial strain

Results: The assessment of strain through CMR-FT, in conjunction with the GRACE score, significantly enhances the prediction of out-of-hospital MACE in NSTEMI patients

Impact: The integration of myocardial strain assessment with the GRACE score enhances the prediction of patient outcomes, thereby providing clinicians with more effective guidance in patient management
