Synopsis

Keywords: Neonatal, Ischemia

Motivation: Multi-pool chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI provides a comprehensive explanation of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) metabolism

Goal(s): Identify brain regions affected by HIE in neonates using multi-pool CEST MRI.

Approach: Study of ten full-term HIE neonates and 25 controls. CEST images were registered to standard space and segmented into six regions using a neonatal atlas.

Results: Significant reductions in NOE, MT, and APT signals were observed in left caudate; MT signal had highest AUC of 0.796.

Impact: Multi-pool Lorentzian fitting method offers detailed metabolic information, potentially serving as an indicator for HIE diagnosis, monitoring, and prognosis.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
