Synopsis

Keywords: Blood Vessels, Blood vessels, AVM,Hemodynamics,Slient MRA,4D flow MRI

Motivation: Quantitative assessment of hemodynamic changes in brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM) can characterize BAVM vascular pathophysiology.

Goal(s): To investigate whether the signal intensity of silent MRA reflects hemodynamic information of BAVM

Approach: The correlations between the signal intensities of feeding arteries (FA), draining veins (DV), and non-feeding arteries of BAVM on silent MRA and the hemodynamic parameters of corresponding vessels on 4D Flow MRI were analyzed.

Results: In non-FAs and DVs, signal intensities of silent MRA were significantly positively correlated with blood flow and velocity of 4D Flow, whereas the correlation was not significant in FAs of BAVM.

Impact: As a three-dimensional, pseudo continuous arterial spin labeling (pcASL),contrast-free MR angiography, signal intensity of silent MRA can reflect blood flow and velocity in non-FAs and DVs, but does not seem to follow this pattern when assessing FAs of BAVM.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
