Synopsis

Keywords: MR-Guided Interventions, MR-Guided Interventions, mid-field MRI

Motivation: Assess the feasibility of real-time MRI guidance for bone biopsy at 0.55 T

Goal(s): Evaluate the protocols of osseous lesion biopsy planning and guidance at 0.55 T.

Approach: Three patients with known prostate cancer and osseous metastases underwent 0.55T examination of a pre-selected region of interest based on prior imaging.

Results: : 0.55T MRI identified 100% of the osseous lesions seen on prior CT and/or PSMA SPECT/PET. Real-time imaging provides satisfactory image contrast and spatiotemporal resolution for potential biopsy guidance.

Impact: Real-time protocols on 0.55T MRI appear feasible for biopsy guidance. Future interventional studies with phantoms and human subjects can be performed.
