Motivation: The current imaging setup for breast MRI is for the patient to be in the prone position. Recent coil advancements have enabled fast supine breast imaging, but this is not widely adapted.
Goal(s): Analyze potential SNR differences between Breast MRI in prone and supine positions.
Approach: We analyzed relative SNR differences between prone and supine by computing SNR maps for each position, using a body coil SNR map as a reference.
Results: The in vivo comparison showed a difference in potential SNR between imaging in the prone vs. supine positions, specifically for patients with smaller breast sizes.
Impact: Breast MRI has emerged as a key component to breast cancer imaging. However, the prone setup is uncomfortable for many patients. Being able to scan in supine with potential SNR benefits would allow for a robust supine breast MRI protocol.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
