The Value of Fluid-Suppressed Amide Proton Transfer-Weighted Imaging in Suppressing Fluid Components in Post-Treatment Gliomas

Synopsis

Motivation: Fluid-suppressed amide proton transfer-weighted (FS-APTw) imaging is a post-processing technique designed to suppress fluid components in imaging. Few clinical studies to date have evaluated its efficacy in suppressing fluid components in post-treatment gliomas.

Goal(s): This study investigated the utility of FS-APTw in suppressing fluid signals in post-treatment gliomas by comparison between APTw and FS-APTw imaging.

Approach: Prospective study.

Results: FS-APTw imaging was shown to effectively suppress the signals of fluid components in APTw images without affecting solid regions. This technique exhibited the most pronounced fluid suppression effect on fluid components with equal or high signal on FLAIR but low signal on DWI.

Impact: Our findings demonstrate the clinical potential of FS-APTw imaging in improving the readability of APTw images and enhancing diagnostic accuracy.
