Synopsis

Keywords: Normal Development, Normal development

Motivation: Glymphatic system abnormalities mediate multisystem pediatric diseases. To further clarify the alterations of glymphatic system in pathological conditions, reliable researches on normal development of glymphatic system in early lifetime are required.

Goal(s): Quantitatively evaluate the structure and function of PVS in children aged 0–8, and clarify a developmental pattern of glymphatic system.

Approach: PVS in certain plane was identified and measured with an automated segmentation method, the DTI-ALPS method was applied to assess glymphatic system function, and statistical correlation between was required.

Results: Developmental patterns of PVS morphological characteristics and glymphatic system function in 0–8 years were clarified, revealing a significant correlation between.

Impact: Between age and both PVS morphological metrics and glymphatic system function, a positive correlation has been established across the 0–8 year age range for the first time. Furthermore, correlation between glymphatic system structure and function was quantitatively confirmed.
