Motivation: Pancreatic secretion flow is key to assessing pancreatic exocrine function, and cine-dynamic MRCP showing potential for tracking changes in secretion flow.
Goal(s): To compare 1.5T and 3.0T cine-dynamic MRCP in evaluating pancreatic exocrine function.
Approach: Cine-dynamic MRCP was conducted on 36 healthy volunteers before and after an oral fatty meal. The differences between the lengths and frequencies of pancreatic juice secretion were compared using Independent-Samples T-Test, and the change post-meal at each field strength was also compared using Paired-Samples T-Test.
Results: Both 1.5T and 3.0T showed increased secretion frequency and length of pancreatic juice post-meal, with no significant differences between the field strengths.
Impact: This study demonstrated that the feasibility of cine-dynamic MRCP for assessment of pancreatic exocrine physiological function change at both 1.5T and 3.0T. The frequency and length of pancreatic secretion observed shows good agreement between 1.5T and 3.0T.
