Synopsis

Keywords: fMRI Analysis, DWI/DTI/DKI

Motivation: IVIM-DWI could reflect more accurately the complexity of the microstructure of the tumor tissues. The hypoxic state serves as the trigger for angiogenesis. Among the myriad of molecules that detect and respond to hypoxia, HIF-1α stands out as the most pivotal regulator of oxygen homeostasis. Can IVIM-DWI predict the expression of HIF-1α in breast cancer?

Goal(s): To investigate the correlation between quantitative parameters of IVIM-DWI and the expression of HIF-1α in breast cancer tissues, and to evaluate its predictive efficacy.

Approach: Perform a correlation analysis between IVIM quantitative parameters and HIF-1α.

Results: IVIM-DWI may be used to predict the level of HIF-1α expression.

Impact: We initially assessed the oxygenation level of breast cancer utilizing functional MRI. IVIM-DWI may be used to predict the level of HIF-1α expression of breast cancer non-invasively, which is helpful in guiding clinical decision-making and prognosis assessment.
