Synopsis

Keywords: Atherosclerosis, Atherosclerosis

Motivation: Atherosclerosis (AS) is the main cause of most cardiovascular events.

Goal(s): The study was to develop the nanoparticles to improve the curative effect on atherosclerosis.

Approach: We prepared magnetic nanoparticles enveloped IL10 coated with macrophage membrane (MM/IL10-MNPs).For atherosclerotic mouse model, MM/IL10-MNPs were injected and MR images were collected. And we divided the mice into 4 groups. All mice were treated in different ways.

Results: MRI showed T2WI signal intensity was reduced. And the smallest patch area was observed in the MM/IL10-MNPs group.

Impact: In the animal results, MM/IL10-MNPs were able to enhance the active target delivery to atherosclerotic lesions, increase drug concentration in the pathological local and inhibit atherosclerotic development.
