Synopsis

Keywords: Bone/Skeletal, Bone

Motivation: Our motivation is to investigate a method to generate CT-like positive bone-contrast images using MR.

Goal(s): Our goal is to facilitate CT-like Volume Rendering of cortical bone using ZTE MR.

Approach: We added additional processing steps to clinical oZTEo bone images, such as DL chemical shift correction, background air signal removal and histogram adjustments.

Results: We show the feasibility of bone imaging using oZTEo with the potential to enhance the clinical utility of MSK MRI by making volume rendering easier/faster leading to VR renderings that more closely resemble the benchmark CT images.

Impact: Our work has the potential to become a one-stop-shop imaging approach with the ability to get co-registered bone and soft-tissue images in a single, radiation-free MR exam.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
