Synopsis

Keywords: Atherosclerosis, Atherosclerosis

Motivation: The association between body composition patterns and coexistence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (Cardio-Cerebrovascular diseases) remains elusive.

Goal(s): To explore the association between body composition patterns and Cardio-Cerebrovascular diseases.

Approach: We employed multivariate logistic models, restricted cubic spline methods to assess the association between body composition patterns (determined via principal component analysis) and coexisting CSVD-CHD.

Results: Our findings indicate that male gender, high "trunk fat mass", and low "bone density" patterns are associated with higher risk of coexisting CSVD-CHD with gender-specific differences.

Impact: These results highlight the potential of body composition management in reducing the risk of CSVD-CHD coexistence.
