Synopsis

Motivation: As a serious risk factor for women's health worldwide, the incidence of breast cancer has increased dramatically in recent years.

Goal(s): Early differentiation between benign tumors and malignancies is crucial for improving the survival rate of patients with breast cancer.

Approach: Time-Dependent Diffusion MRI (TD MRI) is a novel MRI tool for depicting cellular microstructures. The aim of this study is to investigate the value of differential diagnosis between benign and malignant of breast tumors using the microstructural features based on TD-MRI.

Results: TD-MRI effectively distinguishes benign from malignant breast tumors, showing significant differences in Dmean, Vin, and cellularity with high diagnostic accuracy.

Impact: The study's findings could improve diagnostic strategies for clinicians, enhancing early breast cancer detection and treatment planning. It paves the way for further research on TD-MRI applications in other cancer types, ultimately benefiting patient outcomes and overall care.
