Motivation: To address the limitations of performing whole night uninterrupted sleep studies and concurrent TMS/EEG/fMRI in an MR environment.
Goal(s): To develop an advanced 25-channel ultra-thin Head-Cap RF-Coil Array that provides full brain coverage, durability, and EEG/TMS compatibility with minimal performance degradation.
Approach: An ultra-thin and modular Head-Cap Array is designed using 25 reinforced Twstr elements arranged in a “soccer-ball” geometry with adjustable cable routes to accommodate the needs of a study.
Results: The Head-Cap demonstrates improved performance when compared to a standard head array, provides comfort and unrestricted head placement for sleep with minimal reduction in performance when used with EEG or TMS.
Impact: This Head-Cap Array could enable prolonged overnight sleep studies and concurrent TMS/EEG/fMRI allowing researchers to study neural dynamics during sleep, and monitor the causal effects of TMS with minor reduction in imaging performance.
How to access this content:
For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
