Synopsis

Keywords: Image Reconstruction, AI/ML Image Reconstruction, Abdominal imaging

Motivation: The abdominal multi-parametric quantitative imaging can comprehensively assess the characteristics of abdominal tissues, offering high medical diagnostic value. However, it is often time-consuming, and accelerating acquisition could promote its widespread clinical application.

Goal(s): Develop a method to achieve rapid simultaneous T1 and T2 mapping of abdomen.

Approach: Longitudinal magnetization controlled multiple overlapping-echo detachment (LMC-MOLED) sequence is performed to acquire abdominal images rapidly, and reconstruction for abdominal T1 and T2 maps is carried out using synthetic data and the proposed GAL Multi-UNet neural network.

Results: The proposed method can achieve accurate T1 and T2 mapping for five slices in vivo abdomen within 5 seconds.

Impact: We proposed a new method for rapid simultaneous T1 and T2 mapping of abdomen, addressing the issue of long acquisition time in abdominal multi-parametric quantitative imaging, with significant potential value for clinical diagnosis.
