Synopsis

Keywords: Vascular/Vessel Wall, Aging

Motivation: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease worldwide, causing more than 62% of heart failure. Non-enhanced CMRA does not require contrast agents and radiation, but the imaging time is long, and the success rate and image quality are limited.

Goal(s): To shorten the imaging time, reduce motion artifacts, and improve tolerance and diagnostic accuracy through sparse sampling and optimized reconstruction.

Approach: This study uses a 3D balanced steady-state free procession sequence (BTFE) with compressed sensing (CS) technology.

Results: Findings reveal patient's body mass index (BMI) and heart rate are independent influencing factors.

Impact: Our study to improve image quality can shorten scanning time, increase success rate, and significantly improve image quality. It is especially suitable for examination of elderly and respiratory unstable patients.
