Synopsis

Keywords: Myocardium, Cardiovascular

Motivation: The association between myocardial strain and amyloid protein burden in amyloidosis has not been extensively studies

Goal(s): The aim of this study was to explore whether multiparameter CMR can identify early myocardial involvement in patients with LGE negative amyloidosis, and to which degree the strain indices correlate with myocardial amyloid burden.

Approach: The CMR sequences included cine, T1 mapping, T2 mapping and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE).

Results: All strain metrics show significant associations with the markers of myocardial amyloid burden

Impact: This study demonstrated that multiparametic CMR can identify early myocardial involvement in patients with AL amyloidosis, and all strain metrics show significant associations with the markers of myocardial amyloid burden.
