Motivation: Gynecological diseases require precise imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment. T2-weighted 3D imaging is essential for faster scans and multiplanar reconstruction. However, challenges such as lower fat-to-fluid contrast and artifacts can affect image quality. This study aims to enhance 3D T2-weighted MRI for better visualization of pelvic organs.
Goal(s): The goal is to identify optimal parameter settings for 3D T2-weighted MRI using variable refocusing angle (VRFA) techniques to improve image quality.
Approach: Images were acquired from volunteers using a 3T MRI scanner, with quality assessed visually.
Results: The best combination was RFA 90°, TSE factor 80, and TEequiv 100 ms using LC-VRFA.
Impact: LC-VRFA enhances 3D T2-weighted MRI of the female pelvis, yielding sharper images with fewer artifacts. The proposed parameter settings can improve diagnostic accuracy and streamline protocols, benefiting clinicians and patients by reducing scan time while maintaining image quality.
