Motivation: The pMRI scanner is a portable, ultra-low-field MRI scanner with great potential for brain scanning. In some cases, patients no longer need to visit the Radiology department, improving patient safety and comfort, optimizing hospital resources and saving costs.
Goal(s): The pMRI scanner could replace certain scans that previously required fixed, high-field scanners.
Approach: The first patients are expected to be scanned at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
Results: At present, scanning with the pMRI scanner shows promising results. Its deployment offers several advantages over traditional, high-field scanners.
Impact: The pMRI scanner is a portable, ultra-low-field scanner for brain imaging that can be used in any in-hospital room to save valuable time, hospital resources and reduce risks for ICU or ER patients.
