Synopsis

Keywords:

Motivation: Highlight safety challenges when a minipig is scheduled for a high-definition brain stimulation (HDBS) trajectory planning study in a 7T ultra-high field scanner!

Goal(s): Give a solution-based description to challenges in connection to animal studies conducted at a 7T ultra-high field scanner.

Approach: Present a solution-oriented discussion on overcoming challenges associated with animal studies and maintaining safety conditions in a 7T scanner setting.

Results: To ensure the animal's safety before and during anesthesia, a comprehensive safety protocol is essential, along with innovative solutions to address unsuspected challenges.

Impact: The methods outlined here are particularly valuable for other 7T research sites planning to initiate similar studies, offering crucial insights into managing safety and welfare in such specialized settings.
