Motivation: We routinely employ 2D Qflow sequences to quantify cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow. EPI-PC sequence now allows us to acquire flow images more rapidly and without gating
Goal(s): Can the EPI-PC technique be used in routine clinical practice?
Approach: Comparison of 2D flow and EPI techniques: advantages and disadvantages
Results: Both sequences offer distinct advantages and disadvantages. The 2D Qflow sequence provides optimal image quality but requires a longer acquisition time, whereas EPI-PC offers faster acquisition but may be more artifacts. The choice of sequence will depend on the specific clinical needs and the trade-offs that can be tolerated for the images.
Impact: EPI-PC, is now available for the study of cerebrospinal fluid flow. Faster and easier to implement than the traditional 2D Qflow method, it opens new avenues for the diagnosis and follow-up of pathologies related to cerebrospinal fluid, such as hydrocephalus.
How to access this content:
For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
