Motivation: This is a preliminary study comparing the power efficiency of cardiac imaging across 0.55T and 1.5T field strengths.
Goal(s): To measure the gradient power, magnet and cooling, and total system power during cardiac cine acquisitions, on a 0.55T MRI system in two configurations (with commercial and prototype gradient performances) and a commercial 1.5T MRI systems.
Approach: Power meters were installed to measure power consumption during acquisitions
Results: Similar gradient performance systems used similar amount of power. The commercial 0.55T system has lower power gradients and produced decreased peak energy in standard imaging but required more time and energy when acquiring free-breathing cine acquisition.
Impact: This is a preliminary study comparing the power efficiency of cardiac imaging across 0.55T and 1.5T field strengths.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
