Motivation: The researchers are motivated by implementation of regular QA MRI in accordance with the international IEC 62464-1 guidelines and its applications in fat-suppressed MRI near metals.
Goal(s): To evaluate the potential of IEC 62461-1 standard for regular QA scanning in fat suppressed MRI near metals.
Approach: A designated phantom developed according to IEC 62464-1 was evaluated in regular QA MRI. Data quality was assessed in presence of metals along with fat suppression.
Results: The results demonstrate QA MRI stability of the investigated system over time. Application of the QA phantom enables quantification of metallic implant influence and fat suppression on MRI image quality.
Impact: The use of the IEC standard is expected to deliver a generalised approach ensuring the best data quality in fat-suppressed Gd-based MRI in presence of metals.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
