An iterative convolution approach for estimation of the tissue impulse response function, H(t), is applied to the renal transplant population. We compared renal perfusion calculated using the proposed iterative technique to conventional gamma-variate fitting and show improved physiological accuracy and decreased variability in renal blood flow estimates. The iterative convolution results differentiated between normal transplants and those undergoing acute rejection.
