The main thrust of this study was to determine the sensitivity of diffusion weighted imaging in delineating MS lesions in clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) subjects, a cohort of subjects who experience one exacerbation consistent with MS but have not been clinically diagnosed as MS patients. Clinically used T2-weigted images were used as the gold standard to define the ground truth of MS lesions.
