We study the effect of using high diffusion weighting ( b -value) and high angular resolution diffusion imaging in resolving multiple intravoxel crossing fiber populations. Three q -ball diffusion-sampling scenarios are considered: b -value of 5000 s/mm 2 with 128 diffusion sampling gradient directions and b -value of 10000 s/mm 2 with 128 and 256 directions. The spherical harmonics expansion method is used to reconstruct the diffusion orientation distribution functions (ODFs). The results show that increasing b -value and angular resolution increases the sharpness of the ODF as well as the amplitude of the subdominant fiber population, indicating a more accurate delineation of the intravoxel fiber crossing.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
