AcidoCEST MRI contrast agents (CA) iopromide
(UltravistTM, Bayer Health Care, Inc.) and iopamidol
(IsovueTM, Bracco Imaging, Inc.) show similar imaging
characteristics with respect to excitation pulse, method
of frequency encoding, and effects CA concentration, T1
time , and temperature. Iopromide shows better CEST
dynamic range for measuring pH, while iopamidol shows
better precision. Both contrast agents can be used to
measure extracellular pH in vivo.
