MR Elastography for the Assessment of Hepatic Fibrosis in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B: Does Histological Necroinflammation Influence the Measurement of Liver Stiffness?

MRE had a high diagnostic accuracy for hepatic fibrosis
in chronic hepatitis B. Both fibrosis stage and
necroinflammation grade were independent factors
contributing to liver stiffness (Multivariate linear
regression, =0.798, 0.275; P< .001). For liver tissue
with F2 fibrosis, necroinflammation accounts for a
portion of the elevated liver stiffness.
