We investigate 7 T T
2
* relaxation rates in
the cortex of subjects with multiple sclerosis (MS) to
determine: 1) quantitative T
2
* changes in and
beyond visible focal cortical lesions (CL), 2) the
spatial distribution of focal MS CL across the cortex,
3) the impact of focal CL on the surrounding
peri-lesional cortex. MS focal CL exhibit longer T
2
*
than healthy cortex. Quantitative T
2
* changes
extend beyond visible CL in progressive MS. Cortical
lesions, however, have the same impact on surrounding
peri-lesional cortex across disease stages.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
