Keywords: Lung, Perfusion
Motivation: Quantitative regional pulmonary blood flow (PBF) is a diagnostically useful parameter since in the lungs regional perfusion is regulated by hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction.
Goal(s): Due to the high costs of gadolinium-based contrast agents and safety issues contrast-free imaging technique such as arterial spin labelling (ASL) is interesting, especially for repeated measurements or applications in children.
Approach: In this study, we aim to develop a robust velocity selective ASL (VSASL) sequence with unbalanced steady-state free-precession (ubSSFP)-readout for free-breathing perfusion measurement of the lung parenchyma.
Results: This study shows the feasibility of non-contrast free-breathing pulmonary perfusion imaging using VSASL.
Impact: This study developed a robust VSASL sequence with unbalanced steady-state free-precession (ubSSFP)-readout for free-breathing perfusion measurement of the lung parenchyma. The approach remains to be applied and examined further in patients with lung disease.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
