Synopsis

Keywords: Vessels, Blood vessels

Motivation: To explore the clinical significance of non-invasive CE-MRA in the diagnosis of pudendal artery conditions.

Goal(s): To establish the diagnostic efficacy of CE-MRA in detecting pudendal artery stenosis by comparing it with the surgical gold standard and color Doppler ultrasound (CDDU).

Approach: All patients received CDDU and CE-MRA, some undergoing additional DSA. A self-controlled study design was employed to assess the diagnostic accuracy and stenosis scores of CE-MRA.

Results: There was no significant difference in stenosis scores between CE-MRA and CDDU. The stenosis accuracy of MRA compared to DSA reached 100%.

Impact: This study demonstrates the feasibility of CE-MRA for pudendal artery assessment, broadening imaging options. Its non-invasive nature shows unique advantages in imaging the sensitive gonadal region and could potentially replace CTA and CDDU as the preferred preoperative evaluation method.
