Synopsis

Keywords: fMRI Analysis, fMRI Analysis

Motivation: Perivascular spaces (PVS) is the major component of glymphatic system (GS). However, the link between GS function in the alterations of white-matter microstructure among major depressive disorder (MDD) remains unclear.

Goal(s): To investigate the changes of brain PVS in adolescents with depression by using MRI

Approach: The PVS indexes of white matter were calculated by using T1WI and T2WI in adolescents with MDD.

Results: Our preliminary results suggest that PVS volume and volume fraction have changed in the cerebral white matter and hippocampus in adolescent patients with MDD.

Impact: These results will provide a new perspective for the study of the altered neuropathological mechanism of brain PVS in adolescents with depression
