Motivation: Amide proton transfer-weighted (APTw) imaging is used for glioma evaluation, but the conventional magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym) metric contains confounding contributions from other effects.
Goal(s): To comprehensively investigate the ability of advanced quantitative metrics of APTw imaging in diagnosing gliomas, and compare them with MTRasym.
Approach: We calculated MTRasym, magnetization transfer ratio normalized by reference value (MTRnormref), inverse Z-spectrum metric (MTRRex), and further combined with Lorentzian fitting method. And ROC analyses were performed to evaluate the diagnostic performances of metrics.
Results: Advanced quantitative metrics derived from APTw imaging demonstrated improved diagnostic performance in diagnosing glioma subtypes, compared to conventional MTRasym.
Impact: The study demonstrates that advanced quantitative metrics derived from APTw imaging have improved ability to diagnose glioma, which may serve as useful imaging biomarkers for glioma evaluation, and facilitate the clinical management and prognosis of glioma patients.

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.
After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.
After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
