Synopsis

Keywords: fMRI Analysis, Bladder

Motivation: Various quantitative MRI parameters have been used for muscular invasion in bladder cancer to help determine the optimal surgical approach1. Which parameter is the optimal and how it can benefit VI-RADS remains unclear2.

Goal(s): To assess the correlation of multimodal quantitative parameters and their additional value for VI-RADS in diagnosing muscular invasion.

Approach: T1/T2, ADC and relative enhancement were derived from synthetic MRI, DWI and DCE, and their correlation and the performance combined with VI-RADS were analyzed.

Results: ADC and relative enhancement may be helpful for the sensitivity of VI-RADS while T1/T2 may benefit sensitivity, specificity and AUC in muscular invasion differentiation.

Impact: This correlation among T1/T2/ADC/relative enhancement and the comparisons of their abilities in improving the performance of VI-RADS can serve as a guide to identify which parameter is most helpful and the optimal sequences plan for a certain patient.
