Synopsis

Keywords: Parkinson's Disease, Parkinson's Disease

Motivation: To assess Nigrosome1 characteristics in Parkinson's disease, especially where the structure is not visible.

Goal(s): To build a Nigrosome-1 template that enables to charaterize the region in Parkinson's disease.

Approach: Creation of a symmetric probability map of N1 using optimized non-linear co-registration that accounts for geometric distortion in SWI data. Comparison between manual and automated measurements.

Impact: Assessing Nigrosome1 characteristics in Parkinson's disease, especially where the structure is not visible, will enhance the understanding of the disease and help identifying biomarkers of disease progression and differential diagnosis.
