Synopsis

Keywords: Parkinson's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, CPV; Choroid Plexus Volume; Cognition; ALPS

Motivation: The cognitive levels of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) are closely related to diffusivity lesion probability score (ALPS) and choroid plexus volume (CPV), and cognition can be subdivided into various domains.

Goal(s): To explore whether there are differences in the relationships between ALPS, CPV, and subdomains of cognition.

Approach: We eliminated the influence of age using partial correlation analysis, the relationships between CPV and different subdomains of cognition were explored.

Results: CPV showed a significant correlation with Visuospatial and Executive, Naming, and Abstraction, which were subdomains of Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Additionally, ALPS did not demonstrate any significant correlation with subdomains of the cognition.

Impact: The correlation between CPV and the cognitive functions of visuospatial executive ability, naming, and abstraction provides a more granular perspective to understand the relationship between changes in various cognitive domains of PD patients and the glymphatic system.
