Synopsis

Keywords:

Motivation: Multiparametric MRI on 5T has emerged as a pivotal diagnostic modality for evaluating body lesions, but its application in prostate imaging has not been fully explored.

Goal(s): To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of distinguishing PCa from BPH using multiparametric histogram analysis on 5.0T MRI

Approach: 85 patients underwent DWI, IVIM, and T2 mapping imaging on 5.0T MRI, and diagnostic performance of combined ADC_D_D*_f_T2 model was assessed.

Results: The combined ADC_D_D*_f_T2 model achieved an AUC of 0.991 on 5T, significantly outperforming PSA testing in distinguishing PCa from BPH.

Impact: This study demonstrates that 5.0T MRI, with advanced histogram analysis, offers a reliable and non-invasive method for distinguishing prostate cancer from benign prostatic hyperplasia, enabling more accurate early diagnoses and reducing unnecessary biopsies in clinical settings.
