Synopsis

Motivation: Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a valuable tool in neuroradiology, enabling the analysis of the chemical composition of brain tissues. This paper will present the fundamentals of MRS and the technical challenges encountered during acquisition.

Goal(s): The objective is to provide technicians with the keys to optimize acquisition parameters and obtain high-quality spectra.

Approach: The main topics addressed include sequence selection, water suppression, parameter optimization, and artifact management.

Results: MRS is a valuable tool for studying brain lesions. The role of the technician is crucial in optimizing its use. This work aims to facilitate its adoption by sharing best practices.

Impact: This study aims to democratize the use of MRS in neuroradiology by providing technicians with a practical guide to improve spectrum quality, thereby facilitating result interpretation and enhancing patient care.

How to access this content:

For one year after publication, abstracts and videos are only open to registrants of this annual meeting. Registrants should use their existing login information. Non-registrant access can be purchased via the ISMRM E-Library.

After one year, current ISMRM & ISMRT members get free access to both the abstracts and videos. Non-members and non-registrants must purchase access via the ISMRM E-Library.

After two years, the meeting proceedings (abstracts) are opened to the public and require no login information. Videos remain behind password for access by members, registrants and E-Library customers.
